I felt a bit stupid about this blog, for a moment, when the judge pronounced his verdict on Heater Mills' character. However, his judgement just makes my point even more profoundly, I think on reflection. We don't deserve what we receive in the covenant relationship with God, in fact we deserve it far less that Heather Mills does, but God gives freely... and that's amazing

It is very interesting, and has made me think a lot (which is the purpose of this part of CotN, so that's great). I think I will wrestle with this in today's blog.

I thought that it was a great show of support of the Indian cricket establishment for their player, rather than assuming immediately that Singh was guilty. The Indian nation, as an ex-colony has experienced its share of racism and so I assumed that it is unlikely that with that experience that would partake in such behaviour. What actually happened, I haven't the faintest - I may be totally mistaken, and you may be right.

I would tend to think that jumping to such conclusions to judge though may be why the world is not interested in what Christians say or do.

This is not a luxury but rather a work tool. This tax has hit farmers hard. There should be a postcode thing for taxing 4X4s in town but not where they are needed for work and safety.

In an ideal world (or to get to one), I wish no one was allowed to have a car over 1.5L. It's not just the gas, it's all the arrogance, speeding and bad driving that goes with lots of other big and expensive cars. I've just renewed the car tax for my own 1.5L diesel and I'm delighted its only £35 PER YEAR!

I can't really agree that God is Allah, though. My point is that I respect those who do think that is the case, but I also respectfully disagree with them. I don't think Christians and Muslims have the same view of God, or, indeed, the same God.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is not only merciful, he is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, he is both imminent (with us) and transcendant (beyond us), he is known in Christ not just through a messenger, and he is into forgiveness big-time.

I think it is important to say this, not to knock muslims (or to encourage them to knock us), but because true dialogue and true relationship is based on an honest appraisal of where we are rather than a merging of two positions which don't easily fit together.

September the 11th is going to take a lot of time to heal. Reconciliation is hard, but easier with a true faith. Jesus came to mend and heal, not cause division.

Most Muslims believe in peace, and the problem is extremism in any faith that wrecks the central messages of hope and love.

God is Abba, Allah and Father

People want no commitment, but lots of rights. There is already a way to be protected legally - it is called marriage and also implies a number of commitments.

This is a sign of a bigger issue in society, which is all about wanting 'my rights', without taking on responsibilities.
