The paper I picked up on my train today tells me that *** cancer deaths have been halved due to the screening programme which has been run by the NHS.
This is wonderful, but hardly surprising, is it? Screen people for *** cancer and you'll catch it and save lives.
Would that we were so diligent in screening our souls.
I guess the problem is that we know the danger, but think it will not happen to us, and so, until someone gives us a prompt, we forget to notice.
