Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why every major institution appears to be giving away our personal details all at once? Is it a fashion thing? Maybe it's contagious? How come you never heard of it and now there have been several incidents within a few weeks.

I wonder if it has actually been happening all along, it's just that we never heard about it. I don't know if that is cynical, but it seems a likely explanation to me.

 If I am right, I guess that it is quite a good parable. Everything looks great. We don't know what preachers and others mean when they talk about 'sin' or things being wrong in our lives. We see no evidence that anything at all is wrong. And then something unravels and we discover that actually there were problems all along, it's just that we had never seen them.

Fortunately for us Jesus offers a solution to that problem, the only question is whether we will take it. I am not sure what the solution to the government's slippery e-fingers is!
